Ciara Duffy is an intimacy coordinator for the film and television industry. Based in Ireland, Ciara began her career in the Production department in 2014. She has since worked on some of the biggest productions in the country, including Disney’s Disenchanted,  Lucasfilm's Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi, Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel, and Foundation for Apple+.

 

While coordinating Bodkin for Netflix in 2022, Ciara began her training as an intimacy coordinator with the IDC (Intimacy Directors and Coordinators) based in the United States. The certification level of the course, under Amanda Blumenthal and Rebecca Johannsen of the Intimacy Professionals Association (IPA), began in July 2023.

 

Following the arrival of her second daughter in 2023, Ciara left the freelance film and television industry and joined the innovative, female-led team at Homebird Productions as Production Executive. She gained her Intimacy Coordinator accreditation in November 2023.

 

Ciara’s wide range of experience working for some of the world’s top distribution companies has given her a valuable insight into the importance of intimacy coordination within the industry, and she is proud to be able to use her gold standard training to advocate for a safe, comfortable and consent-driven work environment for cast and crew.
